Reviews Overview

Most Liked

One standout feature at Neptune is the portion size, particularly for their fish and chips. Diners frequently mention the impressively large fish, often likening it to a whale on their plates. Alongside this, the chips receive rave reviews for being fresh and perfectly cooked, leaving patrons craving more.

The menu diversity adds a lot of appeal. From traditional fish and chips to pies and kebab wraps, there is something to please everyone. The affordability also helps; for instance, the lunch deal at £7.50 includes small fish, chips, and curry, providing fantastic value. Friendly staff often complete your meal experience with a smile, making return visits highly likely.

Finally, the casual vibe and convenient food options make Neptune a preferred choice for families and individuals seeking comfort food after a long day.

Most Disliked

Some diners express disappointment when it comes to the busiest hours, especially on Fridays at 6 PM when the restaurant hits its maximum capacity. Waiting times can be longer during these peak periods, which might frustrate those in a hurry.

Another recurring concern is the occasional inconsistency with meal preparation on busier nights. While most meals land perfectly cooked and flavorful, a few diners reported that theirs fell short due to rushed service or overcooked items.

Additionally, although Neptune offers a great variety of fish options, the lack of more exotic seafood dishes may leave some diners wishing for more choices. Those looking for broader seafood offerings might find Neptune a bit limited.

Bit of a late review but me and a few lads from ZZOOMM found this place and it’s a bloody gem ! Staff are awesome. Portions are huge. The girl that served me is ace. She’s an asset ! The Donner meat and chips ! Oh yes ! Proper chippy chips too ! Good wraps and great overall experience.

Pukka Pies! It seems so rare to find a chippy that does decent pies these days - they're usually the far inferior Holland's variety...or worse. £6 for a pie, chips, and gravy isn't bad these days, and it was all served with a smile. Chips were decent, with a good portion size, while you can also choose from curry sauce, beans or mushy peas on the £6 deal. Unfortunately I was too busy stuffing my face to get a photo of the actual food.

I had a normal portion of Donor meat and chips, the portion was huge, both donor meat and chips were lovely and perfectly cooked. The place was very clean and staff very friendly. Will definitely go back when in Crewe

I was looking for an easy tea and remembered reading good reviews about Neptune. I ordered two large fish and chips and mushy peas and it was just under £15. It wasn't until I got home that I realised the mistake I'd made, as I opened the two boxes and found the whales inside!! The fish was absolutely enormous and really chunky. The chips were delicious, best I've tasted in years. Excellent value for money, really impressed. I'll be back...but for only one portion!!
